Signs of Spring: Crocus and Tulip Bulbs Pushing Through
Chicago and Northwest Indiana weather has not shown it lately, but Spring is definitely here. For me, the first sure sign of Spring comes when my bulbs begin to push through the soil and mulch and appear in mass. Last fall, I posted about planting fall bulbs, and those of you who took my advice will soon be reaping the rewards.
On a side note: When tulips and crocus begin to push up, it is a signal that the soil temps are rising, and you should cut back, prune and rejuvinate your ornamental grasses and soft-bodies perennials.
