Quick Note on Hosting and Upgrading to the new Wordpress
I know that a few of my blogging associates are in the process of upgrading from their free Blogger accounts to their own hosted domains. I made this leap a few weeks ago my-own-self and could not be happier.
However, last week an announcement was made by the good folks at Wordpress that there was a hole somewhere in the current Wordpress version and a newer release was out to correct it. I am no tech guy, but their description of this “hole” made it sound like hackers could break into your site and steal your wife and kids if they wanted to. What’s more, converting to the new version seemed simple, but they added something to the effect of, “If you screw this up, your site will crash and President Bush will send more troops to Iraq because of it.”
Needless to say, I was scared! But then I found this article over at the Blogger Noob site that urged us hosting “customers” to call our host and have them do the conversion. I thought, “Gee, that’s a novel idea. I am paying these people to host my site, and they wanna keep me happy, so they should support me on this.”
So I called AN Hosting, a division of Midphase, who is my host, and they did the upgrade for me in 15 minutes right over the phone! Now that is good customer service! If you are looking to make the move to your own hosted Wordpress blog, then AN Hosting is the way to go. And they are hands down the lowest price host I’ve found.
Thanks to AN Hosting for superior customer service, and thanks for the blogging Noob for leading the way.
